I recently did a two day MTB tour of Huascaran with Mauro Olaza and MTB Altitude. It was a great experience. Mauro was a great guide and host and tended to my every need. Great tips and suggestions along the way and he was always available with supplies, water, food, so I only had to carry a small day pack. There are several options so you can do as much or little climbing as you want as well as options for singletrack “shortcuts” along the way. Three passes including Punta Olympica tunnel on the second day. Amazing route with great scenery and you stay in a great lodge on the quiet side of the Cordillera Blanca (in Yanama). Nice well-maintained full suspension bike from Julio Olaza that worked perfectly. Highly recommend this tour! 10/10!

We had a great time riding the Huascarán Loop with Mauro as our driver and guide. He was reliable, knew the area well, and shared interesting info about the region and its people. Mauro supported us from the car throughout the ride, made sure we stayed on track, and took some great photos. The trip was smooth, well-organized, and very memorable. Highly recommended!
